How to Prepare iPhone HEIC Photos for Windows and Email
Use a safe, repeatable workflow to share iPhone photos with people and apps that need JPG or PNG.
Start with an untouched copy
Before converting a large photo library, copy the original files to a separate folder or backup. Work from duplicates and use a small sample first. This makes it easy to compare color, orientation, dimensions, and filenames before processing the rest.
Convert for the destination
For email or a Windows application that rejects HEIC, JPG is usually the most compatible output. PNG is a better choice for a screenshot or graphic with sharp text. Select several files at once when they need the same settings, and choose ZIP when one download is easier to manage.
Verify the result
Open a few converted files in the destination application, not only in your browser. Check portrait orientation, important details, and file size. Conversion may not carry every piece of camera metadata into every output format, so retain the HEIC originals when capture information matters.
